Our Story
Makoto Watch Company is the culmination of a lifelong dream. After years of delving into the world of horology and exploring the intricate details of fine timepieces. Our company began in 2024 and we have now produced 5 models into our core lineup with another 5 coming in 2026. We are exciting to be collaborating with other brands in 2026 and look forward to bringing out new and exciting pieces each year.
Our admiration of Japan inspired us to try and capture some of the magic in our designs which was the basis behind the creation of the Makoto Watch Company.

At Makoto Watch Company, we are committed to delivering the highest quality timepieces at an accessible price. Our philosophy revolves around offering unique and limited-run watches that represent both exceptional value and distinctive design. We believe that luxury should be both attainable and enduring, and our mission is to create timepieces that you can treasure for years and pass down through generations.
Why Makoto?
The name “Makoto” holds a special significance. In Japanese, Makoto represents Genuine Honesty, Authenticity, and Integrity. These values resonate deeply with our mission and ethos. We strive to embody these principles in every aspect of our brand—from the quality of our timepieces to the way we connect with our customers.
Full Transparency, we have nothing to hide, we are proudly Canadian and our timepieces are produced just outside of Hong Kong. We work with several of the top manufacturers in the region to produce what we think is the highest quality timepieces anywhere in the world at this price point. Our quality control is second to none and our fit and finish is equal or better than watches that sell for 2 to 3 times our price point. We manufacture in extremely low numbers, typically 30-40 pieces per model on any given production run which means you will have a very limited and unique timepiece, and it also means we can really focus on getting each piece as close to perfect as we can.
Our core commitment is to our customers, and so far our customers have nothing but praise for our customer service and the quality of our timepieces. We can’t wait to show you how good our Makoto watches really are.

Small Production Runs & Why This Matters
At Makoto Watch Company, we intentionally produce our timepieces in very limited quantities—typically between 25 and 50 pieces per release—and we will never exceed 100 pieces of any individual model within a single calendar year. This approach reflects our commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and a philosophy that values quality over volume. By maintaining such exclusivity, each Makoto watch remains distinctive, ensuring that every piece carries a sense of individuality and refinement that mass production simply cannot replicate.
Equally important, this disciplined production strategy helps preserve the long-term value of every Makoto timepiece. By avoiding market saturation, we support stronger value retention while offering our customers something truly special—an investment that is as enduring as it is meaningful. We deeply value the trust our customers place in us, and we are committed to delivering not only exceptional design and craftsmanship, but also a level of rarity and integrity that honors that investment for years to come.

The feel good factor and comfort level of wearing the Hamana is excellent. It feels well balanced rather than top heavy, and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The micro adjustment clasp is excellent, and gives a good amount of on the fly adjustment. Overall the build quality, quality control, and finishing, are excellent. The accuracy of the Miyota 9039 is excellent; mine is running at +2 seconds per day.

Everything about this watch is superb. The box and leather watch holder are beautiful and perfect for the theme of the watch! The face and bezel are crisp and clear and the color choices are very pleasing. The bracelet clasp is milled and has a very nice quick adjustment. I’ve already gotten compliments from strangers on this watch! On top of all of this it’s an amazing deal!

A nice ‘unboxing’ experience. A quality piece. Good weight. Great finishing. Unique dial design that holds up in person. Micro adjustment on the clasp comes in handy. Power reserve good so far.
